A program designed for your future
For one year, divided into three periods, you will explore how Boliden operates end to end, and how your own unique background and experience connect to the bigger picture. As a graduate, you are employed in a permanent position from day one and supported by an individual development program. Throughout the year several engaged and experienced colleagues, will guide you in your progress. You will become part of an international network of graduates and colleagues, expanding both your knowledge and connections. Six joint training weeks with top-class lecturers will challenge your thinking and give you the opportunity to further deepen your skills. After graduation you will continue your journey with a mentor for six months. In addition, you will receive practical training in project methodology and Boliden’s production methods, enabling you to apply what you learn directly in our operations.

In this role as Automation Engineer, you'll be part of the development team at Rönnskär, supporting the development and implementation of automation solutions. You will combine independent technical work with project participation, coordination, and communication with internal and external stakeholders, while contributing to future technologies such as machine vision, robotics, autonomous equipment, and AI-based analysis.
Responsibilities:
Monitor developments and emerging technologies within automation
Lead smaller idea and concept studies, often independently
Act as automation engineering discipline lead in projects and coordinate others in larger projects
Actively investigate and propose automation solutions and ideas for improvement
Prepare technical specifications, follow up supplier deliveries, and support technical procurement
Participate in testing and verify that automation systems perform as planned
Carry out automation-related design work and manage smaller projects, including budget, meetings, and schedules
Explain proposed solutions and their impact to production stakeholders and support successful implementation
Qualifications:
Degree in mechatronics, industrial engineering and automation, mechanical engineering with an automation or robotics profile, or electrical engineering with a specialization in automation

What you bring
You hold a relevant university degree completed in 2025 or later. You can communicate clearly in English, hold a valid driver’s license and are available to start in September 2027.
How to apply
Submit your application and CV in English. The recruitment process includes assessments, interviews, and a final Assessment Center for selected candidates.
The Assessment Center will take place in Stockholm, Sweden, on one day between February 16-19, 2027. Boliden will cover travel and accommodation expenses. Please ensure your availability between February 14-20, 2027, if you progress to the final stage.
