Tech Lead – Java / Cloud Architecture

About the Assignment We are looking for a highly experienced Tech Lead with a strong background in Java, cloud technologies, and software architecture for a long-term assignment based in Gothenburg. This is a hands-on technical leadership role where you will combine software development with architectural responsibilities. You will contribute to both the implementation of solutions and the technical direction of the wider platform. The role is well suited to someone who enjoys working close to the code while also being comfortable discussing architecture, making technical decisions, and guiding other developers. You will work in a modern DevOps environment together with several development teams. The organization follows an agile way of working with short development iterations and longer planning cycles. Your Responsibilities As a Tech Lead, you will be involved in both technical delivery and architectural development. Your responsibilities will include:Providing technical leadership within the development team Developing and maintaining backend services using Java and Spring Boot Designing scalable and maintainable software solutions Contributing to overall system and solution architecture Evaluating technical approaches and making architectural decisions Working with AWS and cloud-native technologies Developing distributed and asynchronous applications Collaborating closely with developers, architects, and other technical stakeholders Supporting engineering best practices around testing, quality, and automation Contributing to CI/CD and continuous delivery processes Sharing knowledge and supporting the technical growth of the team The position offers a balanced combination of hands-on development and architectural work. Required Experience We are looking for someone with extensive experience in backend development who has previously taken on technical leadership responsibilities. You should be confident communicating technical concepts, driving discussions, and making decisions while remaining comfortable working hands-on with development. Essential SkillsProven experience as a Tech Lead, Technical Lead, Team Lead, Lead Developer, or similar Strong professional experience with Java backend development Advanced knowledge of TypeScript Solid experience with AWS, particularly serverless technologies Strong understanding of microservices architecture and software design Experience working with both SQL and NoSQL databases Strong experience with Spring Boot Experience with asynchronous programming Practical experience with GitHub Good knowledge of Unix/Linux environments Experience applying Test Driven Development (TDD) Strong understanding of CI/CD and automated delivery pipelines Experience working in agile environments, such as Scrum, SAFe, or Kanban Excellent communication and collaboration skills Fluent professional English Nice to Have Experience in any of the following areas would be considered an advantage:Automotive or mobility technology Connected vehicles or connected applications Serverless application development AWS CDK AWS CodePipeline Docker and containerized environments Load and performance testing Designing highly scalable software solutions Application profiling and performance optimization Connectivity and integration platforms About You We are looking for someone who combines strong technical expertise with a collaborative mindset.
