About the role

Hej Software Engineer, Would you like to help make IKEA communication understandable and accessible to people around the world? At IKEA, language connects people, markets and ideas. Within Translation Management in Enabling Functions, we develop the digital solutions that help IKEA content move across languages efficiently and consistently. Our work supports the people who create, manage and translate content - and ultimately helps IKEA communicate clearly with co-workers and customers across many different markets. We are looking for a Software Engineer to join our team. You will work in a collaborative, international environment alongside software engineers, business specialists and other colleagues who bring different perspectives and areas of expertise. The role will be based in Malmö. We believe that your presence with the team and working the majority of the time in the workplace is important. We value curiosity, openness and people who are comfortable asking questions. You do not need to know everything when you arrive. What matters is that you enjoy learning, sharing what you know and working with others to solve real problems. Your new job As a Software Engineer in Translation Management, you will help develop and improve the tools and services that support translation and localisation across IKEA. This is not only about writing code. You will take part in understanding user needs, exploring possible solutions and making thoughtful technical decisions together with the team. You will contribute throughout the development process—from shaping an idea and building a solution to testing, releasing and improving it over time. You will work with systems that support complex content and translation flows across IKEA. That means balancing usability, performance, maintainability and business needs while keeping the people using our solutions at the center. In your day-to-day work, you will: Design, build and maintain reliable software solutions Work across the technology stack, depending on the needs of the product Collaborate closely with colleagues from both technology and business Turn real user needs into practical technical solutions Contribute to technical discussions and decisions Review code and share knowledge within the team Help improve how we develop, test and deliver software Learn from mistakes, challenge existing ways of working and help the team grow You will have room to bring your own ideas, try new approaches and influence both the solutions we build and how we work together. What we’d like you to bring to the table The role as Softare Engineer requires you to have: 5+ years of experience with Oracle Database, PostgreSQL, and MySQL, including data modelling, query optimisation, performance tuning, database administration, stored procedures, packages, and triggers. 5+ years of hands-on experience with MongoDB Atlas, including data modelling, query optimisation, Atlas Triggers, Functions, Change Streams, and event-driven processing. Hands-on experience with Azure Databricks, including cluster management, data engineering pipelines, and enterprise-scale data migration solutions. 3+ years of experience with Next.js and TypeScript, building responsive, scalable, and modern web applications. Experience building and maintaining data integration pipelines between Oracle and MongoDB. Strong experience with event-driven architecture, system integrations, and real-time data processing. Proficiency in Microsoft Azure cloud services, application deployment, infrastructure management, and cloud-native solutions. Experience with Jenkins CI/CD pipelines, automated deployments, release management, and DevOps best practices. Strong experience in production support, incident management, troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and problem resolution. Working knowledge of Jira and Confluence within Agile and Scrum development environments. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to communicate clearly, honestly, and in a structured way. Good interpersonal skills, including active listening, coaching, and facilitation. A deep understanding of IKEA’s core values and cultural principles, together with a mindset and way of working that reflect them. We welcome your application Please send in your application by October 17th, 2026 at the latest. We always recruit based on values, competence, potential and diversity. Once competence requirements are met, we will first consider impacted co-workers at Inter IKEA Group.
