About the role

Do you have an eye for detail and a passion for creating awesome character design concepts, magical environment concepts and whatever is needed to enhance game experience? Are you excited about crafting vibrant visuals for mobile games that captivate millions of players? As a Concept Artist at Snowprint, you’ll have a broad role with plenty of room to influence the visual direction of our new game project. You’ll mainly work on character and outfit concepts, but also contribute to props, items, environments, key art, and whatever else is needed to bring the game’s visual world together. You’ll be part of a small team where your ideas and perspective matter. You’ll work closely with the Art Director, other artists, designers, and developers, with the freedom to take ownership of your work and find solutions rather than simply working from a list of tasks. At Snowprint, we believe that kindness, curiosity, collaboration, and a shared passion for making great games are key to creating a good place to work and great games. What you’ll be doing You’ll primarily create concepts for characters and their outfits, developing ideas that can be translated into 3D models and eventually brought into the game. You’ll work from early ideas through to more detailed concepts and turnarounds, making sure your designs communicate the character clearly and give the 3D team what they need to take them further. You’ll also create key art and title screens, as well as concepts for props, items, environments, and other visual elements when needed. The role gives you the opportunity to work across different types of concept art and contribute to the overall visual quality of the game. You’ll work closely with the Art Director and the rest of the art team, sharing work early, discussing ideas, and responding to feedback throughout the process. You’ll be encouraged to explore different approaches, adapt your style to the needs of the game, and keep moving rather than over-polishing before getting feedback. Is this you? You’re an experienced Concept Artist with professional experience working on at least one released game. Experience from a stylized, fantasy, or high-fidelity game is particularly relevant. You have a strong understanding of character design, including anatomy, proportions, clothing, poses, lighting, composition, mood, and surfaces. You know how to make designs feel visually interesting while still having a clear function and purpose. You understand the path from concept to 3D. You know how to create clear character turnarounds and other concepts that give 3D artists what they need to build and implement the asset. You’re adaptable and comfortable working within an established art direction. You can adjust your style to what the game needs and are comfortable working across characters, props, environments, and key art. What we’ll be looking for in your portfolio Strong character / creature appeal and design fundamentals Dynamic / interesting character presentation Work samples showing confidence in human and animal anatomy A strong understanding of light and material behaviour Clear character sheets for 3D artists Where you’ll work Our Stockholm studio is located in Södermalm, with a hybrid working model. We work from the office on Tuesdays and Fridays to support collaboration and social interaction. Other days, you can work from wherever you feel most productive. We provide the setup and tools you need to work comfortably. We’re unable to support relocation for this position, so you need to be based in Stockholm, Sweden.
