About the Role
As Manager for our Mechanical Project Lead Engineers within Engineering Mods & Ups, you will lead a team that turns complex technical challenges into reliable, customer-focused solutions. Your team will lead the engineering execution of mechanical modification projects for the complete Finspang gas turbine service fleet: SGT-500, SGT-600, SGT-700, SGT-750 and SGT-800.
Our projects are never standard. Each turbine has its own history, configuration and operating conditions. Your team’s mission is to lead and coordinate mechanical modifications throughout the project, from technical scope and planning to execution and delivery. The role requires strong leadership, sound engineering judgement and the ability to connect technical details with the overall project and customer need.
You will work closely with sales, project management, mechanical engineering disciplines and other key functions across Service. As the manager, you will create the conditions for clear ownership, effective cross-functional collaboration and predictable project execution. Key Responsibilities
Lead & Inspire
Develop and empower a team of Project Lead Engineers responsible for mechanical modification projects across the gas turbine service fleet
Foster a culture of collaboration, technical curiosity, accountability and continuous improvement
Drive Excellence
Own and develop the engineering execution for mechanical Mods & Ups projects, with focus on clear scope, planning, coordination and delivery
Ensure technical and financial follow-up, manage interfaces and risks, and turn lessons learned into actionable improvements
Act as first point of contact for new mechanical modification projects and coordinate priorities and workload with other engineering managers
Customer & Business Focus
Collaborate with sales and project management to align technical scope, delivery plans and customer expectations
Support complex technical discussions and guide your team in resolving cross-functional challenges throughout project execution
Qualifications
Proven leadership experience as a manager, team lead or project leader in a technical environment
Strong technical background in mechanical engineering, gas turbine engineering or a related discipline
Experience of leading engineering projects and coordinating multiple technical interfaces
Excellent communication skills, sound business judgement and the ability to build trust across teams and with customers
