Om jobbet (About the Role): Gothenburg International School (GIS) is seeking an inspiring, visionary, and qualified School Principal (Rektor) to lead our international school community in Mölndal. As Principal, you will be responsible for the educational leadership, operational management, staff oversight, and regulatory compliance of the school. You will drive academic excellence following the British Cambridge Curriculum, foster an inclusive international school culture, and ensure compliance with Swedish educational legislation (Skollagen). Dina arbetsuppgifter (Your Responsibilities): Pedagogical & Strategic Leadership: Drive the strategic direction, quality assurance, and ongoing development of the Cambridge Curriculum while aligning with Swedish educational standards (Skollagen and Lgr22). Operational & Personnel Management: Manage daily school operations, staff recruitment, professional development, and performance management for a diverse, international team. Student Welfare & Community: Foster a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment with small class sizes; oversee the student health team (Elevhälsa). Compliance & Authority Contact: Act as the primary liaison with Skolinspektionen, Mölndal municipality, and other educational governing bodies. Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong, transparent communication channels with parents, guardians, the school board, and the wider Gothenburg community. Kvalifikationer (Qualifications & Requirements): Education & Credentials: Completed or currently enrolled in the Swedish National School Leadership Programme (Rektorsprogrammet) is highly preferred, or an equivalent international school leadership credential. University degree in Education / Teacher Qualification (Lärarlegitimation). Experience: Proven leadership experience in a primary or lower-secondary school setting, preferably within an international or bilingual school environment. Curriculum Knowledge: Strong familiarity with the Cambridge International Curriculum and/or British Key Stages. Language Skills: Professional fluency in both English (working/teaching language) and Swedish (for official municipality, statutory, and regulatory documentation). Background Check: A valid extract from the Swedish criminal record registry (Belastningsregister för skola/förskola) is mandatory before employment.
