Software Engineer

ALTEN in Sweden is looking for a Software Engineer (.NET Core/C#) to join our team in Gothenburg for an on-site opportunity with a leading client in the Automotive sector. You will play a key role in developing and maintaining the communication interface between vehicles and tools, including remote operations, ensuring seamless integration throughout the product lifecycle, from development and testing to manufacturing and remote scenarios. You will collaborate directly with stakeholders to develop common and reusable solutions that drive customer success. Your work will span the entire product lifecycle, ensuring robustness, scalability, and efficiency in a dynamic environment. Your expertise in C# and .NET Core will be critical, but your ability to deliver end-to-end solutions, from design to support and acceptance testing, is what will truly set you apart. Experience with communication protocols (design/implementation) is a plus, as is your adaptability in a self-organizing team where everyone contributes across all aspects of the product. Your main responsibilities Develop and maintain communication interfaces between vehicles and tools, including remote operations Design, implement, and test software solutions for the entire product lifecycle Collaborate with stakeholders to create reusable and scalable solutions Work in an agile Scrum team, contributing to all aspects of the product (design, implementation, testing) Ensure customer success through direct communication and problem-solving Your profile You are a team player with a passion for delivering high-quality solutions and supporting your colleagues to achieve shared goals.Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field 6+ years of hands-on programming experience in C# and .NET Core Expert-level proficiency in C# and deep knowledge of .NET Framework and runtime internals Proven experience with AOT compilation strategies (e.g., for embedded Linux) Experience with cross-platform development (Android, iOS) using .NET MAUI or Xamarin Strong backend engineering experience in containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes) Familiarity with Lua scripting and dynamic script generation pipelines (merit) Understanding of automotive diagnostic protocols (UDS ISO 14229, ISO 15765-2, SAE J1575, RP1210 A-D) (merit) Experience working with OEMs or heavy-duty automotive diagnostics (merit) Fluent in English (written and spoken) About ALTEN ALTEN is one of Europe’s largest technology and IT consulting companies with over 57,000 employees in nearly 30 countries.
