Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior CNC Programming Engineer to join our manufacturing team. In this on-site role, you will lead the programming, setup optimization, and execution of complex components utilizing CATIA for 5-axis CNC mills and multi-axis machining centers. You will be responsible for translating intricate engineering designs into flawless manufacturing processes, driving cycle-time reductions, and ensuring the highest standards of precision and quality.
Key Responsibilities
5-Axis Programming: Develop, optimize, and maintain advanced multi-axis CNC programs using CATIA V5/V6 (CAM modules) for complex, close-tolerance components.
Process Setup & Optimization: Define manufacturing methodologies, selecting optimal cutting tools, fixtures, work-holding methods, speeds, and feeds.
Simulation & Verification: Utilize simulation software (such as VERICUT) to perform virtual dry runs, ensuring zero machine collisions and optimal tool paths.
On-Floor Troubleshooting: Partner closely with machinists and operators on the shop floor to prove out new programs, troubleshoot complex setups, and resolve machining deviations.
Continuous Improvement: Lead initiatives to minimize cycle times, reduce scrap rates, extend tool life, and improve overall manufacturing efficiency.
Mentorship: Act as a technical authority on the shop floor, mentoring junior programmers and machining operators.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Experience: Minimum of 5–8 years of dedicated experience in CNC programming, with a heavy emphasis on simultaneous 5-axis machining.
Software Mastery: Expert-level proficiency in CATIA CAM modules for manufacturing and toolpath generation.
Technical Expertise: Deep knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing), advanced metallurgy, cutting tool technologies, and macro-programming.
Machining Fluency: Proven experience with high-end 5-axis machines (e.g., DMG MORI, Mazak, Hermle) and their respective controllers (Heidenhain, Fanuc, Siemens).
Problem Solving: Strong analytical skills to diagnose complex mechanical and software issues directly on the production floor.
Education: Degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent advanced technical certification/apprenticeship with extensive field experience.
