About the role
Company description:
We’re looking for a Digital Product Owner to help shape how data and AI create real value in manufacturing at Volvo Group. In this role, you’ll lead a defined product area, work closely with manufacturing and digital teams, and turn business needs into scalable solutions that improve decisions, flow, and performance. If you enjoy translating complexity into practical impact, this is a chance to help drive transformation at scale.
This is us – your new colleagues in Data & AI for Manufacturing
You’ll join the Data & AI Adoption team within Group Digital & IT — a global, collaborative team working to turn data and AI into measurable business value across Volvo Group. We work closely with manufacturing stakeholders to build digital products that improve performance, enable smarter decisions, and support long-term transformation.
Job description:Your mission and impact
Your mission is to own a defined product within manufacturing, turning business needs into clear priorities, product decisions, and delivered outcomes. You’ll work across manufacturing, data, and engineering teams to identify opportunities, shape solutions, and ensure products deliver measurable value. A key part of the role is helping move from isolated AI use cases to scalable, business-relevant solutions that improve manufacturing.
You’ll collaborate with area owners, product managers, engineers, analysts, architects, and manufacturing stakeholders to continuously improve products and user experience.
You’ll own backlog priorities for a defined manufacturing data and AI product area, translate roadmap goals into deliverables, and help align day-to-day decisions with the broader product vision and strategy.
You bring a strong focus on business value while staying close enough to the technical detail to contribute to product decisions, roadmap discussions, and continuous improvement. You’re curious about how data, analytics, and emerging AI capabilities can best serve the manufacturing business.
What you’ll do
Help shape the product vision and ensure delivery aligns with business value and user needs
Run product discoveries with manufacturing stakeholders, analysts, engineers, and product peers
Translate business needs into user stories, priorities, and product decisions
Track product performance, user adoption, and outcome metrics to guide continuous improvement
Own and prioritize the backlog for a defined manufacturing data and AI product area
Support AI adoption in manufacturing by identifying and delivering high-value use cases
Work across teams to ensure solutions are scalable, reliable, and supported end to end
Contribute to long-term product planning, capability development, and continuous improvement
Who you are
You’re comfortable working at the intersection of business, technology, and product development. You likely bring a university degree or equivalent experience, along with several years (at least 5 years) of work in data, analytics, digital products, or a closely related area.
You can navigate ambiguity, manage changing priorities, work strategically and build alignment across stakeholders. A strong understanding of manufacturing will be key to succeeding in this role, along with the ability to translate business challenges into clear action. You combine communication skills, curiosity, and a practical mindset with a focus on user needs, continuous improvement, and measurable outcomes.
What you’ll bring
Strong understanding of the manufacturing domain (over 5 years of experience), including processes, stakeholder needs, and how to translate business challenges into data, analytics, or AI product opportunities
Experience working with digital products, data, analytics, or AI-related solutions
Good understanding of agile ways of working
Ability to translate business needs into product priorities and deliverables
Strong collaboration and communication skills
A structured, proactive, and problem-solving mindset
Experience with Lean, user-centered product development, or systems thinking is a plus
A can-do attitude and a commitment to continuous learning
Fluency in English
Experience in management consulting, ideally 3-5 years, is considered a strong asset
What’s in it for you?

A key role in shaping how data and AI create measurable value in manufacturing at Volvo Group
Close, cross-functional collaboration with manufacturing stakeholders and global digital, data, and engineering teams
The opportunity to drive scalable AI adoption, moving from isolated use cases to robust products that improve decisions, flow, and performance
Continuous growth through product ownership in a modern Data and AI environment, including discovery, roadmap work, and outcome-driven improvement
