About the role
As Engineering Manager, you will lead the Engine Control Software team responsible for the software and calibration that brings Koenigsegg powertrain to life. From core engine control and torque modelling to drivability, emissions, performance and reliability, your team works at the intersection of software and some of the most extreme combustion engines in the automotive world. This is a hands-on leadership role where you will set direction, develop people and create the conditions for the team to deliver at its best—while staying close to the technology and the engineering challenges.
What you will do:
Lead, develop and grow the Engine Control team, fostering technical excellence, ownership and collaboration.
Set technical direction and priorities together with the team and stakeholders across R&D.
Own the team’s delivery across engine control software, calibration, validation and software maturity.
Guide development in areas such as combustion control, torque management, drivability, emissions certification, performance and reliability.
Ensure robust software quality through testing on simulation environments, test benches, dynos and vehicles.
Work cross-functionally to solve complex challenges spanning software, electronics and mechanical systems.
Support the technical and professional development of the engineers in your team.
We are looking for an engineering leader with strong technical judgement and a genuine passion for both people and machines. You are comfortable moving between detailed engineering discussions and broader priorities and understand how engine control decisions impact the complete vehicle.
Degree in Engineering, preferably within automotive, controls, mechatronics, electronics or a related field.
Minimum 5 years of experience within engine control, powertrain software or calibration.
Previous experience leading engineers, technical teams or complex engineering deliveries.
Experience in homologation is desired.
Understanding of internal combustion engines, engine management systems and hybrid powertrains.
Experience with embedded C/C++ and automotive software development.
Strong systems thinking and troubleshooting skills across software, electrical and mechanical domains.
Experience from high-performance automotive development, motorsport, Formula Student/FSAE or similarly demanding engineering environments is highly valued.
