Group Design Leader, Glass Systems

About the Role You will take a key role in the development of glass systems for passenger vehicles, covering windscreens, rear screens, door glass, quarter-glass, glass roofs and rails. In this automotive engineering environment, the components are developed in-house as build to print solutions, and you will work across the full product lifecycle from early project phases to production and running changes. You will own function, performance and quality for your area while coordinating the people and decisions needed to move the work forward. Job DescriptionYou will lead the development of glass and rail components in several vehicle projects. You will coordinate cross-functional teams with the right competences from both internal teams and suppliers. You will drive the work from project start through industrialization, production introduction and later product changes. You will balance and follow up targets related to function, performance, quality, technical solution, cost and time plan. You will work closely with design, engineering and other stakeholders to move solutions forward in a fast-changing environment. RequirementsUniversity degree in Mechanical Engineering or a similar field. Good experience in project leadership and coordinating cross-functional teams. Ability to work independently in a cross-functional development environment. Strong sense of responsibility for delivering against time plans, technical targets and cost objectives. Very good communication skills. Fluent English. Nice to haveExperience working with glass and polymer materials. Knowledge of Team Center. Previous experience working as a GDL in the client's environment.
